Ketoprak

Today I want to share with you all, my lovely readers, another Indonesian traditional dish called Ketoprak.

Ketoprak IDR 8.000

Ketoprak is an Indonesian street dish which consists of lontong (rice steamed in a banana leaf), tofu, sliced cabbage, beehoon, beansprouts, crackers and sauce made from peanut and palm sugar mixed with chili, salt, garlic and sweet soybean ketchup.

Unlike pecel, we can easily find a ketoprak seller along Jakarta Street. The characteristic sound of the Ketoprak seller is they gently hit the plate using fork/spoon to announce his arrival.

In this post, I will show you the “step by step” of how to make a “so-called delicious” Ketoprak:

1. Pestle peanut and palm sugar and mixed with water, chilli, salt and garlic. You may add lesser chili padi if you don't like spicy food.

2. Cut tofu into small pieces

3. Cut lontong into small pieces

4. Put beansprout

5. Put beehoon and cut cucumber into small pieces

6. Put sweet soybean ketchup and crackers

If you have holiday in Jakarta, don't forget to try Indonesia Street Foods.

All the foods are very nice. The price is also very-very comfortable for your pocket (I can guarantee that!!) =P
